Limited edition of Elder Futhark Runes
This limited edition we have chosen to dedicate to Odin – the one-eyed Allfather.
In Norse mythology we learn that Odin sacrifices himself during 9 days and nights, pierced by a spear and hanging from one of Yggdrasil’s branches. Here he learned great wisdom and discovered the runes.
And of course we can only speculate about what it was that Odin saw in the runes. What it was that meant so much to him so it was worth sacrificing himself the way he did. We can feel how the magic vibrates in all of the stories about Odin and his struggle to reach the secret behind the runes.
The bindrune on the lid is composed of the runes Othala, Dagaz, Isa and Naudhiz. The runes for Odin’s name.
The two ravens, Hugin and Munin, are strongly connected to Odin and have therefore been given their place on the lid of the rune box.
Hugin represents ”memory” and Munin represents ”thought”.
These runes are made from a very special wood. It comes from a huge piece of appr. 1000 years old oak tree. Some time ago this tree was struck by a lightning and broke in half. One half remained still alive, but another was separated from the main trunk and we were lucky to buy these remains.
We decided to make the runes from this wood, as only they can be worthy of that majestatic tree that started to grow at the end of the Viking period.
There will be only 133 sets made.
The number 133 came to Norse Völva Månstråle through seidr as a powerful message. 133 rune sets to be created and find their chosen ones. The runes are tasked with guiding you to embrace change and where you should be able to use your skills and creativity to manifest your dreams and desires.
